I created this piece for Passport, a San Francisco Arts Commission event.
A sticker of this piece and a RFID chip was placed in each "Passport".
A live stream video of the event can be seen

You Are Where You Go
The mechanisms that drive our society and culture put a premium on tracking the behaviors of groups and individuals. Data representing where we go, what we purchase and who we interact with is collected via smart phones, passports, credit cards, Facebook accounts and inumerable other touch points.
My art piece contains a QR Code and a RFID chip (Radio Frequency Identification) ; both are methods of tracking data. The QR Code, when decoded with a smart phone, reads You Are Where You Go. That site will also link to a video of my entire passport project recorded as patrons interact with me.
RFIDs are as common as barcodes, if somewhat less recognizable. For example, RFID chips exist in all US Passports, Fastrack and in merchandise tagging.
